Going bananas!
Shortalk:  my car aircon’s been giving me some problem and it’s not recommended to drive back KL. Sending it to the mechanic tomorrow so I have an additional day to spend back home in penang.  Not that im complaining.  Woot!
banana fritters or “goreng pisang” in our national language has got to be everyone’s favorite afternoon snack. not only in Malaysia, you get to savour this snack in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and even up in the Philippines. it’s a regional thing and everyone loves it. the preparation and serving style might be pretty similar in these country except in the Philippines where bananas are sliced thinly before being wrapped in spring roll paper together with a lil brown sugar and then fried to perfection. It is known as turon or banana lumpia in the Philippines while in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, people pretty get it when you said goreng pisang.
I’ve tried all the different versions throughout the region and each and every one of them has different ways of serving it and it is such delight to eat something so simple yet so delicious. One can choose to eat immediately the minute you bought from the stall - piping hot, crispy on the outside, and soft and sweet taste of the banana inside. OR to you budding food adventurers out there can add some condiments to further enhance this snack to dessert by adding vanilla ice cream, condensed milk, honey, icing sugar and so on.
